Fracture

A fracture means that there has been a break in the bone. Therefore, when someone says they broke their arm, this means that they fractured their arm.

Fractures are caused by an abnormal amount of force being put through the bone. This can happen in a car accident, a fall, or a direct blow. Fractures are classified according to the angle of the break, how the break happened, and how large the break is. The following pictures show a few different types of fractures.
