Can I do anything to prevent whiplash injuries?

The Quebec Task Force on Whiplash-Associated Disorders recommends the following:

• promotion of general road safety
• vehicles equipped with adequate headrests for all occupants: headrests that support the base of the head and do not allow the neck to move up and over the headrest
• vehicles equipped with restraints for all occupants
• encouragement of a return to normal, pre-injury activities as quickly as possible for mild and moderate cases of whiplash
