Since the mid 1990s, in order to be become as a physical therapist, most people
must take 6-7 years of university. In Canada, after graduation a physical therapist
takes a national examination that must be passed in order to become a licensed
physical therapist.
Many Canadian universities are changing, or have already changed, to a Masters of Physical Therapy program. This means that you need a university degree in order to get into physical therapy. Some programs have not yet switched to the Masters Degree however they still require one to two years of university courses before getting into a four year physical therapy program.
